September 2018 Super Event Calendar

Finally, we get a break from the heat.  With Labor Day behind us, there are still tons of things to do in the best month of the year ;).

September 4-9th

Man of La Mancha

The restored Mid-Century vibe of the A Noise Within Theater space plays host to the classic musical Man of La Mancha. This local ensemble of a powerful tale of human spirit and insurmountable odds has been racking up rave reviews from local critics.   Event LINK


September 7th

Dance Downtown

Music Center holds the final free evening of Dance Downtown at Grand Park with a very special 90'2 theme that all of us can dig. The event takes place on the lawn adjacent to the towering City Hall. , this event is a great way to have some fun in the park. Bring a picnic sans booze. Cocktails, beer and wine available for sale on site.  Event Link

September 8th


This traveling "movie in the park" is dog-friendly and a great way to experience some new parks, new people, and new neighborhoods.  Next one is Boogie Nights at the Cornfields just north of DTLA. GA $14 Event LINK 

September 9th

Rose Bowl Flea Market. The monthly event return to the Rose Bowl but with the summer heat hurting turnout, this one should prove to be filled with great finds. 2,500 vendors selling everything from rare collectible to antiques. If you have never been, you should go at least once. $10 admission. 


September 14-16

Robert Plant, Foo Fighters, Katy Perry and Imagine Dragons -KAA BOO


It's rare to find a concert that has cross-generational appeal but the upcoming KAABOO is it. This part music festival part comedy festival, this line-up is well worth the trek out of LA County.  Taking place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, this is a three day festival with varying line ups by the day. Go for the night that matches your likes or make a weekend out of it with a local AirBnB. Event LINK  

September 16th

Sunday Sessions 


Most local fans of House Music will know about the epic Sunday Sessions that have been taking place in Downtown LA for the past six years. Food trucks and cocktail bars pop up in Grand Park for this chill daytime event. Events starts at 2pm and ends at 8pm. FREE Event LINK

September 22nd



The 3rd annual Cosplay convention returns to the Pasadena Convention Center. The all-day event features 120 vendors selling comic books and collectibles, costume contests, karoke battles, live music and what sounds like an epic Nerf Gun Zombie Shoot Out. If you or one of the kids needs to embrace your inner-nerd, this is your Graceland. Event LINK


September 23rd

Langham Mid-Autumn Festival

The spectacular Langham Huntington plays host to a China-themed night-market style dining event. Live music, food stations and a canopy of colored paper lanterns. Tickets start at $38, free valet parking. Event LINK

September 27th

An Evening with Sally Field

Sally Feild herself hosts a literary memoir at the Pasadena Presbyterian. The legendary actor will share tales of her challenging childhood and the craft that brought her into our homes for decades. Raw honesty and an amazing talent for story telling is sure to make this a memorable nights for fans of her work. Event LINK

Tacos and Beer Fest

I do not know what food pairing can better sum up LA than Tacos and Beer. This food festival will crank up the classic combination with some micheladas, tequila, pinatas, and a mechanical bull. DTLA's Pershing Square plays host to this 21 and over event. Tickets start at $20.   Event LINK

12th Annual LA Chocolate Salon
