The IRS states you should keep records for the last three years (seven years if you file complex taxes and show a loss) files older than this hold very little use and just take up space. The annual Podley Properties Shred Event is right around the corner. This is an absolutely free, no obligation event where you can come and have your documents professionally shredded to oblivion.
